Troop 40038 – DC Bound In 2026!
We’re a troop of Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors in Port St Lucie, Florida trying to get to Washington, DC in July of 2026!
OUR GOAL
The 2026 Girl Scout National Convention
Every three years, Girl Scouts of the USA hosts a national convention: a gathering of Girl Scouts from around the country who come together for a week of leadership, celebration, and sisterhood.
We want to give our scouts the singular opportunity to experience all that Girl Scouts, and our nation’s capital, have to offer.
To that end, we are raising funds to help get us there. We estimate it will cost us $3000 per girl to make the trip, and we are trying to fund the entire trip through donations, sponsorships, and fundraising.
Our troop has a core belief that Girl Scouting should be accessible to anyone, regardless of their family’s financial situation, and we work hard to make that goal a reality. But we need your help!
This is an adventure at a scale we have never attempted before, but we believe that the experience is worth the effort, and we hope that you will agree.
How Do We Get There?
Girl Scouts has two traditional fundraisers: our fall Sweets and Treats sale, and the famous cookie sale! Alongside those, our troop will be conducting a number of individual fundraising activities throughout the year: from selling handcrafted goods at local markets to partnering with local businesses for themed nights around town.
Direct donations from our community, local businesses, and others will help us achieve our goals and create a defining experience in a young person’s life. There is no better way to make a difference than direct support, and every dollar contributed will go directly to our girls. We have sponsorship levels that fit every philanthropic budget.
Girl Scouts is “girl led” – it’s one of the core tenets of the Girl Scout movement. With that in mind we make sure our members are at the forefront of the planning and fundraising process. From optimizing our travel budgets, to planning efficient and engaging experiences, to designing and executing fundraising campaigns, our troop centers the entire experience around growth, learning, and leadership.
